Overview

Quicko's tools and calculators empower users to visualize and manage their finances effectively. Tools landing page acts as a central hub, showcasing the entire suite of tools designed to optimize tax savings. This interface caters not only to individual users but also functions as a valuable resource for channel partners and broker integrations seeking a comprehensive overview of Quicko's financial solutions.

The Problem

The landing page needed an interface that wouldn't become outdated quickly and remain timeless. Quicko constantly develops new tools to address user needs. The landing page had to be adaptable and scalable, allowing the addition of new tools as per requirements. Additionally, Quicko's business focus had shifted towards income tax, with less emphasis on other domains like GST and TDS. The new landing page needed to reflect this by prioritizing income tax tools and strengthening Quicko's overall brand presence.

Process

Previous design

The previous landing page had some shortcomings and lacked consistency, the key issues were:
  • Followed outdated design language and design system
  • Not scalable to accommodate addition of new tools
  • Distinction between Income tax, GST, TDS sections wasn't clear

Iterations

We looked at some references of landing pages of other financial products, we noticed that many use a grid layouts to present their tools effectively. Similarly, we also explored some iterations with grids

Solution

We adopted a clean and minimalist grid layout for the landing page. This layout prominently features the Income Tax Calculator as the hero tool, reflecting its importance. To create engagement and break the monotony of the layout, we added long folds detailing Quicko's products. To emphasize income tax tools, we used dedicated widgets for each income tax tool, while presented tools from other domains in a concise list format. This creates a clear hierarchy and highlights importance of Income Tax tools.

Conclusion

Learnings

Initially, I found myself clinging to familiar design patterns. But then I realized that this is an independent landing page, there is freedom to explore more with fresh approaches. Thus lesson for me here is to look for every chance to explore newer patterns in the given constraints. Also, getting continuous feedback at various stages of design and acting upon it is always important for better results
At the very initial stage, I struggled to understand the new design language of Quicko and incorporate that into design. However, through active discussions and iterative design cycles, I developed a strong understanding and successfully implemented it in my work.
